Black and White
Recently I've been pushing my work toward abstraction and decided to try limiting myself to a palette of black and white. I found the process frustrating, feeling that most of my imagery is more successful with the addition of color. But I have developed a few abstract black and white images by various processes. Some of these images began as experiments with ink on a slick surface, others began as macro photos of mold. In all cases, the images are abstract but still very organic, enigmatic spaces for the viewer to explore. The final work is a composite of seven images and I just couldn't convince myself to go all the way to black and white.
